Admittedly, we first fell for the tangy color and ergonomic shape of this peeler. But it appears that its maker, Karim Rashid, had more than a cool organic shape in mind. The ultra-sharp, high-tech ceramic blade (that's right, ceramic) leaves none of the after-taste or smell that a metal blade might leave. Ceramic is not very porous, so it also won't brown your food like metal could. Nor will it rust, remaining razor-edged long after old-school (metal-blade) peelers are spent. Stripping never looked so good.
