Mañana Floor Light

With its body resting against the wall, this lamp seems to be saying, "chill out." If not today, then mañana," Marie-Louise Gustafsson says with this light, yet another droll entry in the Stockholm designer's prolific and growing series. In this case, the stick figure form popped out from her sketchbook ideas for a floor lamp. The graphite gray lacquer underscores its pencil sketch origins and the movable steel-plated lampshade suggests the face. Another bright example that serious design can be seriously fun.
