Why hide the stepladder? Because more than not, it's too unsightly to remain in sight. Karl Malmvall steps it up with a folding ladder that puts all others to shame. One-two-three levels to reach everything you need. Then fold it flat for minimal space use. The simple graphic design and high-gloss finished rubber wood, however, make it too irresistible to hide. (It's even more beautiful in person!) Why not hang it on the wall? It folds flat. An indent at the top of the frame and enclosed lacquered peg dare you to show it off. Clever design is a case of DNA for Karl. His grandpop founded one of Sweden's best furniture plants, and his own experience as a carpenter and industrial designer lead to being a four-time winner of the Excellent Swedish Design Award, as well a the Red Dot Design Award. He learned rational production during a decade-plus with IKEA in Basel, Jakarta and Älmhult.
