Maxim Velčovský—a fast-rising star in the design world—converts everyday, throwaway objects into art made of porcelain or glass. With the Fast Cup, the Czech designer created a Dixie-style cup of glass—each one is hand blown from borosilicate, so each is slightly different. Maxim explained that this was a deliberate choice - he wanted to take the form as far away from its plastic, mass-produced origins as possible. A+R is proud to have been the first to break Maxim and his Studio Qubus collection in America.
