At The Beach 1966 Perfume

“Scent is the record of your own special life,” says Brooklyn perfumer Christopher Brosius, whose tagline for his highly coveted line is “I Hate Perfume.” What Christopher hates are overly hyped scents that look expensive but are made of cheap stuff. To him, mass designer perfumes are, “a lazy and inelegant concession to a fashionable ego.” Instead, CB is unisex, esoteric, alcohol-free and blended of lasting top-notch ingredients.
The prime note of this selection is Coppertone 1967 blended with the North Atlantic. The base conjures wet sand, seashell, driftwood and just a hint of boardwalk. Among the top sellers at our Venice beach shop, and it's no surprise: just a spritz evokes a day lolling on the sand, skin warm from the afternoon sun cooled by the salty sea and the 1960s-era formulation of Coppertone lotion with a touch of watermelon rind.
