Anniversary Galileo Telescope

main image of Anniversary Galileo Telescope

Galileo magnifico! The father of modern science, Galileo found that, despite our human tendencies to believe otherwise, we really are not the center of the universe. Galileo's revolutionary observation of 1610 is being commemorated four centuries later by fellow Italian and Zoom Art designer Odoardo Fiorvanti with this stunning telescope. Odoardo used the same dimensions as Galileo's model to observe the moon and major planets, but updated the ancient instrument with a contemporary spin and using modern optical technology. It magnifies 80-100x, has a focal length of 1000mm (39.37”), and includes three Kellner eyepieces and an adjustable height column. The light tube is made of hollowed untreated birch, and the base and stem of lacquered metal. Easily dismantles and stores away in its case.
