Turk's Head Bungee Cord Bracelet

We're mad for Tanya Aguiñiga's jewelry, and these bracelets are a pop to a sunshine season wardrobe. A spirited take on her Turk's Head cotton cord bracelets, these are braided and knotted from colorful bungee cord. Wear one. Wear all. Textiles are at the core of the jewelry and furniture designed and made by this Atwater Village artist, who knots, twists and dips these necklaces and bracelets, and skins furniture in wool felt. Tanya was raised in Tijuana, and as a member of Border Art Workshop BAW/TAF, a bi-national artist collaborative for the last decade, the border experience is a constant source for her work: “The interconnectedness of societies, the beauty in struggle and the celebration of culture,” she says. Her collaborations extend to the San Diego Museum of Art and RISD.
