Cano Shelving Unit

An ode to Meccano, the model play kit many a future builder and designer likely toyed with as a child, these powder-coated Cano shelves are based on a grown-up notion of building materials such as metal strips, nuts and bolts and a very visible structure. Designer Johannes Norlander, whose studio is based in Göteborg (the second largest Swedish city after Stockholm) gave Cano a pop of industrialism charm with the X's, particularly those in brights. From any side, the sturdy laser-cut steel cuts a graphic identity in any environment, making the Cano perfect as a free-standing room divider.
