J. Schatz's
Hummingbird Feeder
These finely crafted stoneware feeders might be made in New York—but they have the wellbeing of the tropical-centric hummingbirds in mind. Aesthetically, they have us humans singing, too. Designer J. Schatz considered modern aesthetics down to the bright colorways. He also considered the Audubon Society’s recommendations for using several small feeders instead of one large one. Fill with four parts hot water to one part sugar and boil for two minutes. Never use honey, which can promote harmful bacteria growth, or artificial sweeteners. Always hang in the shade to prevent fermentation, and change nectar weekly. Can be suspended by the enclosed vinyl-coated hanging wire. Single fill hole secured by a rubber stopper. Holds 1-1/2 cups of nectar.
