Filament Necklace

From the latest collection by Nervous System, the etched branches are part of a greater exploration of botanical patterns and the designers' "systematically abstracting the cycles of growth and bifurcation seen in plants." The stainless silver branches are linked by sterling silver and hang from a sterling chain. The gold is 24 karat plated.
Nervous System was established in 2007 by Jessica Rosenkrantz and Jesse Louis-Rosenberg, who met at MIT when she was gaining her degrees in Architecture and Biology, and he was majoring in mathematics. Jessica continues her studies at Harvard Grad School of Design; Jesse consulted in building modeling and design automation for Gehry Technologies. Together they are merging a sense of creative style with sound and ethical manufacturing: Among other mandates, rapid prototyping methods allowing for unique pieces at the same cost as mass and without the large facilities or massive manual labor.
