Warning: these toys are not for decorative purposes. They are for play! Each zebra, elephant, rhino, giraffe and rabbit is handmade by Iris Savir, a former art teacher who began making dolls for children from broken homes to cheer and teach them about nature and spirit. Raised in an Israeli kibbutz, Iris studied art in that country and fashion design in the U.S., but has always been mad for nature. She continued studying the habits and motions of real animals, using an internal wire inside the organic felt body for support. Iris, who splits time between Los Angeles (where we met) and the Israeli desert, called her line Gazoor, Hebrew slang for someone who is different. We've put one of each in our daughter's room, and we couldn’t agree more that these creatures stand apart!
