Seagoing tradition inspires the Captain Chair from Bend Goods. In designer Gaurav Nanda’s L.A. studio, each one of these armchairs undergoes upwards of 400 handmade spot-welds—known as “bending”—to ensure structural strength. The curve of the seat and the close spacing of the wires make for an unexpectedly comfortable experience for a wire chair. Made of iron (that can be repeatedly recycled) and sandblasted, pre-treated anti-rust zinc primer and powder coated for extended use inside and out. Ahoy, matey!
