A tactile woodgrain base gives a warm demeanor to E-ggs designer Gionna Scarselli's rethinking of the classic shell side chair. Taking the iconic molded shape with its ergonomic properties intact, he enlarges the proportions and pulls the backrest forward at the sides in an embracing gesture. Finally, the designer sheathes the molded form in padded upholstery for a beckoning promise of comfort.
