This enveloping lounge chair seems to be the very definition of the Danish tradition of hygge—an atmosphere of calm and contentment—with its high sheltering sides and organic contours set on natural wood legs. With his Hyg seating, designer Simon Legald wanted to provide a respite, a "room within the room," for relaxation or a quiet place to read a book or catch up on email. Sheathed in a fine textile upholstery or rich leather, the chair's concave form makes a strikingly beckoning addition to nearly any setting.
