A universal sign of solidarity and support, the clenched fist also symbolizes unity, strength and resistance. In this case, it's raised with proceeds from sales of these posters benefitting cancer charities of graphic designer Børge Bredenbekk's choosing. The Norwegian native, now based in England, painstakingly penciled a series of universal hand symbols, produced by Paper Collective. This salute dates back to ancient #Assyria as an expression of resistance in the face of violence, and has undergone slight tweaks in meaning ever since depending on context. But its fundamental idea has always come back to its original cri de coeur.
