An early example of Hans J. Wegner's timeless style and sense of craftsmanship, this dining chair was one of his initial pieces debuting in 1950 for Carl Hansen & Søn. Sans armrests, CH23 is practical for fitting around the table, even in smaller confines. Made of solid oak or walnut, or a combination of these, it has a form-pressed veneer backrest and comes in a variety of finishes. Along with the characteristic double-woven paper cord seat in natural or black, an optional leather cushion is also offered.
