As a tribute to Danish modernist Hans J. Wegner, Japanese architect Tadao Ando conceived Dream Chair, a uniquely comfortable piece of furniture that invites relaxed reflection. But to achieve the sculptural contours, Ando and the cabinetmakers at Carl Hansen & Søn pushed the size and curvature of the 3-D veneer sheet to the limit—and beyond what was thought possible. Striking from every angle, the walnut structure complements foam-fill front upholstery and an adjustable neck cushion in rich leather.
