In the unusual choice of material for his lighting series, designer Benjamin Hubert found a refined alchemy that extends to the Heavy Wall Light. Here the signature cast-concrete shade is fixed on a brushed metal arm and wall mount to cast a warming glow in any setting, while the fillip of the red cord adds a bit of whimsy. The pendant light's thin-walled shade is individually slip-cast and left inverted in the mold to dry for a number of days as random air pockets and marble-like veining develop on the interior. Yet the exterior surface of the form remains sleek and smooth to the touch. Designer Hubert's work has received international critical and media acclaim and has been exhibited internationally while Decode London more than lives up to its aim of challenging long-held conventions in modern interiors.
