Berlin-based designer Konstantin Grcic injects a head-turning newness into the notion of a sofa with Barbican. His geometric corner version is rethought from the top down, with colorful contrasting pillows and a slim memory foam topper instead of the usual boxy cushions. The substantial foam-covered base is wrapped in a stretchy tonal knit fabric from Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat. Beautifully machined solid-oak legs in a natural or black stained finish add the final touch.
