Hans J. Wegner cast off the understated Scandinavian style with his brazen 1960 lounge chair with symbolic horns, crowning its generous proportions and chromed base. Ox was first produced only as a custom piece but commercially relaunched in 1989 — even given the demanding task to precisely upholster the seating and the fact that it takes a whole day to make a chair. Clad in a fine textile or leather, inner construction includes a solid-wood frame and molded cold-cured foam. Piping at the neck and armrest is also available in contrasting leather with fabric upholstery.
