The task light and the mood light have always been separate objects. Portuguese designer João Teixeira of Viana do Castelo-based Teixeira Design Studio collapses them into one. The form is minimal — a curved translucent shade, angled deliberately — but the logic is precise: light cast downward for focus, light escaping upward for atmosphere. No mechanical adjustment, no switching between modes. The shade's inclination does the work.
