With its unique cylindrical metal shade, Barba Corsini 1955 table lamp was designed for his renovation of Antonia Gaudi ́s famed Barcelona building “La Pedrera.” The inspiration for the lamp's base comes from the vaulted ceilings of the loft while the round shape and perforated surface recall the city's surrounding chimneys. In a choice of black, white or nickel finish, it's a prime exemplar of the noted Spanish functionalist's work and yields an appealing warm illumination.

“I started out with two very strong designs, Bestlite—a Bauhaus collection designed in 1930—and Gubi Chair, designed in 2003” Jacob says (both available at A+R). “I felt they had something in common,” he continues. “Iconic appearance, functional design, high quality, aesthetic design language and adaptable for many different kinds of interiors. I took these values as a guideline for any new designs added to the collection ever since.”
