These handcrafted wall hangings reflect artisan Julie Thévenot's playful nature and preference for organic materials such as leather, brass and wood. "I love the smell," she says. Otherwise primitive spears are modernized by color-dipped brights and monochromatic paint and suspended from a brass rod and leather cord. Paris-born, Julie fulfilled a lifelong dream and resettled in New York after getting her MFA in decorative arts. Though it's a "crazy challenge" for the non-English speaker, she feels a kinship with the city's creative spark. We instantly felt that connection upon meeting her in her adopted city, and had to have her work not only in our home but at A+R, too.
