Description
New York design studio Hlynur Atlason adds a complementary ottoman to its Von seating, an offshoot inspired by the archival 427 chair from founder Lucian Ercolani in 1956. Grounded in the beauty of sustainably sourced solid wood, it adds comfort and warmth to a room in a variety of stained, painted or natural finishes. Complete with a lofty cushion clad with a choice of textile or leather, the pieces blurs the line between residential and contract furnishings, readily finding a home in either setting.

L. Ercolani
Marking the 100-year anniversary of Ercol in 2020, the company reorganized under the moniker of its founder Lucian Ercolani as a premium brand that embodies the classic collection he pioneered as well as new works from an international slate of designers like Norm Architects, Jonas Wagell, and Lars Beller Fjetland. Under Edward Tadros, current chairman and grandson of “the old man” as Lucien is fondly remembered, the legacy of well-built furniture continues at its headquarters in the English countryside village of Princes Risborough
Best known for the iconic midcentury Originals that are still produced today, Ercolani developed a contemporary version of handmade British furniture initially inspired by classic Windsor styles. After surviving the Great Depression, two world wars, several recessions, and global competition, the company moves robustly into a new century buttressed by its uncompromising values and unstinting craftsmanship.
