It might seem curious that the Ginger lighting series from Barcelona-based Marset was inspired by a legendary rock musician. But designer Joan Gaspar modeled the characteristic arc of the shade on the cymbals of famed Cream drummer Ginger Baker. To achieve that ultra-thin laminate shade, sheets of paper and wood are exactingly fused together under high pressure. A white interior amplifies the warm LED illumination outward, from a module fitted with special optics to open up the light beam. The cantilevered floor lamp suspends the fixture from a movable carbon-fiber arm, allowing it to slide forward and backward and to be oriented to either side. In a choice of sizes to bring its own appealing harmony to varied interior spaces.
