The "sliced" sections of the Maranga Ceiling Light from Barcelona designer Christophe Mathieu cast radiating shadows from the glowing fixture. Inspired by the shapes of exotic fruit as well as a regard for Scandinavian motifs, Christophe nonetheless created a light that is resolutely forward-thinking. The polycarbonate shade is made up of 32 sections, evenly spaced for an interplay of light and dark. The resulting illumination is richly shaded and glare-free, with a diffuser to direct light downward.
