Designer Luigi Semeraro says Tripode is a table that was inspired by helter-skelter wood pilings in a fireplace. The solid-plank base first appears to be a random arrangement but is actually a carefully devised structure crafted with the aid of a computer. Finely balanced with its elegant joinery, the self-standing formation also has the bracing clarity of spare Japanese design, revealed by the beautiful expanse of its transparent tempered-glass tabletop.
