Nodding to the biblical story of the unfinished tower, designer Àngel Jové's 1971 table lamp also summons the vibrant spirit of Barcelona emerging in the era of the Spanish transition to democracy. Fashioned in alabaster—solid for the base and hollow for the shade—it countered trends at the time and brought elegance to the once-humble material.
