Daybed was born when artist Rachel Whiteread was invited to step outside her usual practice to design a piece of furniture for London brand SCP. Realized in multi-density foam with a wool covering, the seating riffs on sculptures that Whiteread made in the early 1990s in rubber and plaster, which explored the negative space underneath a single bed. This singular piece is completely made in Norfolk, England.
