This is one wall rack that inspires a smile. Maybe it's that unconscious recall of a wooden toy or building block from childhood. That was, after all, the hook behind the Timberly rack by the guys behind the design trio Rich Brilliant Willing.
The simple utilitarian design is complemented by the rich, beautiful wood plank—available in sable walnut or blonde ash—which mounts flush against the wall, as well as the enclosed 8 pegs made of high-grade aluminum, steel and brass. Move the pegs around according to life: hang keys, umbrellas, bags, scarves, hats, coats, necklaces, belts...you get the idea.
Made in the EU by London-based SCP, the Timberly was designed by New York-based RBW, among the new wave of young guns re-imagining design. RBW is fellow RISD grads Theo Richardson, Charles Brill and Alexander Williams—the brand name, as is plain, is a clever spin on their surnames. Since coming together in 2007, they have won many "best of" top prizes and accolades for their inventive lighting and accessories. We just think they're the bees knees.
