Mayuhana Yugami Floor Light

Designer Toyo Ito's glowing orb cocooned within a larger asymmetrical sphere makes for a magical floor lamp with a lovely diffused illumination. Mayuhana Yugami's gauzy spun surface is created by fashioning a fiberglass web around molds for a dance of shadowy layers. The Pritzker-winning Toyo began his collaboration with the century-old lighting house Yamagawa more than a decade ago, creating delicate whirls of softened light that also evoke the effect of traditional paper lanterns.
