Ombra’s tabletop is fashioned from a seemingly random array of solid-wood pieces, or prototiles—math-speak for a set of tiny non-geometric shapes that form a larger pattern. Designer Jasna Mujkić brilliantly joins them in an abstract take on a shade tree’s foliage. Zanat’s equally refined handcraft originates in sustainably sourced timbers and Ombra—in both side- and coffee-table versions—keeps the environment further in mind by elegantly utilizing small pieces of wood likely to end up as production waste.
