Zieta created J-Chair at the special request for the Museum Jerke, the only museum devoted to Polish contemporary art outside of that country's borders. Located in the west German city of Recklinghausen, the museum's architectural form is divided into sections, giving the impression of cuts in the facade. Likewise, the chair has deep decorative grooves in the otherwise liquid-smooth surface that allude to the museum's construction.
