Kisaragi Armchair: Seat + Back Upholstered

Description

Designed by Motomi Kawakami, the chair is crafted from compressed Japanese cedar—a softwood traditionally unsuitable for furniture but transformed by HIDA’s innovative pressing technique into a durable, beautifully grained material reminiscent of quarter-sawn hardwood. The frame’s clean, linear form flows into gently curved armrests and a sculpted backrest, showcasing the natural cedar grain while maintaining a light, balanced presence.
