Description
Here's a kicky little table lamp that's as fashionable as it is functional. From German design duo Kaschkasch, Cap has a geometric look with its domed shade mounted on a matching cylindrical base, available in a selection of stylish accent colors. The shade rotates to direct the light wherever it's needed while the inner side of the shade is finished in white to reflect the illumination for either direct task lighting or indirect overall ambiance.

Normann Copenhagen
“When Jan and I look at new designs for Normann Copenhagen, we take a very intuitive approach to the products,” according to cofounder Poul Madsen. “A picture can say much more than words and if we are both struck by what we see, we are interested.” Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen teamed up to create the Normann Copenhagen with a vision to shake up the contemporary design field. Now known the world over, they collaborate with new names and established talents from their native Denmark as well as internationally.
The company puts a premium on challenging conventional thinking in collections of tabletop products, lighting and furniture—with bold design strokes, innovative materials and a deft enjoyment of color. “We like products that have an original idea and a simple design, although we do not tie ourselves to a particular line,” Poul adds. “For us, the important thing is that the projects we get involved in bring something new into the world of design.”

Kaschkasch
The expressiveness of restraint. A symbiosis of straightforwardness and beauty that toes the line between function and formal severity. Traditional craftsmanship techniques coupled with the disruption of new technologies. These are among the mandates undertaken in the furniture and lighting design and art direction of Kaschkasch, the studio helmed by Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider and located in a charming backyard building in Cologne that was once a saddlery and adjoining horse stable.
The two arrived at their hands-on approach, initially having both trained in cabinetmaking, and then product design at Münster University of Applied Sciences. Soon after partnering in 2011, Kaschkasch design studio was nominated for best newcomer at the German Design Awards. The studio has since scooped up international prizes, including the prestigious Red Dot Award in 2019 for the Ani Lamp for Blomus, just one of 2 dozen international design houses realizing Kaschkasch’s work—including Menu, Marset and Normann Copenhagen.
